Introduce yourself — who you are, what you do, and where you are.

To provide STEM based education through programming or coding instruction to improve math, reading ,and science standards for students of all modalities while creating accessibility to technology based transitional skills.

Our Program

Our program introduces school aged students to programming or coding and the engineering design process when building programmable , remote controlled robots for students of all modalities.

STEP 1:

Introduction to Coding

  • Block based coding
  • ABCs of learning to program
  • Introduced to simple coding commands.
  • Virtual simulation

STEP 2:

Introduction to Coding

  • Block based coding
  • ABCs of learning to program
  • Introduced to simple coding commands.
  • Virtual simulation

STEP 3:

Engineering Design

  • Introduction of engineering design process
  • Construct a basic bot equipped with sensors.
  • Follow the same problem solving steps that engineers use daily
  • Successfully build a programmable , remote controlled functional robot.

STEP 4:

Collaboration

  • Developed their programming skills through various challenges with their virtual robot
  • Completed build of robot equipped with sensors
  • Compile knowledge from steps 1-3 to program built robot to navigate real world challenges with peers

Community

Our program services students in South Florida. Students of all modalities, living with autism, deaf and or hard of hearing, were included in the design of our program. The transitional tech skills such as digital literacy, problem solving, collaboration, and programming flow are all career ready skills gained from learning to program and use of the engineering design process. Students also gain soft skills such as creativity, computational thinking, persistence , and confidence
